![]() ![]() So, apparently the SGH-I257 is completely different from the SGH-I257M when it comes to replacing the ROM or rooting. I have access to a Windows 7 64-bit PC at work I can use, if that would be easier. In case it matters, my PC is Linux Mint 17.0, 64-bit with kernel 3.13. I'm hoping someone could point me to directions that will actually work on my phone. So, I have to install a new "recovery", which will let/help me install the LineageOS ROM? Is TWRP the "recovery"? How do I back up the stock ROM, for use in case I can't get Lineage installed? Sorry to be such a newb but I see multiple versions of directions on many pages and some appear to be device-specific. What's the best source for directions to follow? I do get that there are 2 separate things to install, a "recovery" and the ROM itself. This is where I have no clue what I'm doing. Heimdall flash -SOS recovery.img -no-reboot Has there never been a release classed as "stable"?Īre oj0's instructions correct for my model? ![]() When I go here: or here: everything is "nightly". So, I assume the "serranoltexx" is the release I want. 16 GB internal storage, with about 11.5 GB free, and I have a 16 GB SD card. I have it up and running fine on the stock ROM on T-Mobile. It's the SGH-I257 version with LTE, intended for AT&T subscribers. Sorry to not follow up sooner, thanks for the responses!
